How And How To Benefit From The Penalty Reduction Due To Effective Repentance?
According to the Turkish Penal Code, effective remorse provisions are utilized in two ways.
The first method is that the suspect, during the investigation or prosecution stages, receives a reduction in the penalty by informing the competent authorities about his accomplices, who assisted and participated in this crime he committed, and who instigated the crime, ensuring that the crime is revealed and those involved in the crime are punished.
The second method is to reduce the penalty by taking advantage of the provisions on effective remorse if the victim’s damage is compensated due to the crime committed against the victim and if this damage is reported to the judicial authorities.
